The Legendary Pictures-produced big screen adaptation of Mass Effect is still in pre-production, with the Mark Protosevich-penned script now being handed off to newcomer Morgan Davis Foehl for re-writes, Variety confirms. Protosevich is an accomplished screenwriter, with credits on the likes of Thor, I Am Legend, and The Cell. Foehl, on the other hand, is a relative newcomer.
It seems that Foehl won the gig because of his love for BioWare's series, selling the producers with his own take on the project. Foehl's Hollywood work experience amounts to a handful of assistant editor roles (according to IMDb), though his writing chops were strong enough to land his script, Whatever Gets You Through the Night, on the 2009 Black List. Foehl also has a script in to Crosshair, Mandeville and Summit's planned adaptation of the Top Cow comic book.
